Hey, I am Izzy!
About my work...
I'm an award-winning and published photographer in Maryland and Washington State. Most of my work has been PNW focused, as some of my artwork has been showcased in the Seattle Art Museum and galleries across the Puget Sound. I have experience in many photography mediums including; cyanotype, film, DAS printing, and digital. While I have experience with many mediums, I'm happiest when humans, dogs, and horses are in front of the camera. With my years of experience in dog sports, reading canine body language and understanding what my fellow "dog people" are looking for in their photos is a huge component to capturing your 4 legged companions! I also have a history with horses, spending hours being a working student while finding joy in the saddle and mucking stalls. I adore falling in love with my subjects, you are what makes the images meaningful. My main goal is to authentically capture everything you love about your canines/equines so that they are timeless on and off the screen.
A little bit about me...
From a young age, I did my best to understand the connection between humans and animals. My youth was filled with hours spent at the horse barn and pretending to "show" my first dog, Chocolate. Through my local 4H club, my animal and photography passion was supported and has blossomed into a lifelong love. I have now been showing, training, and photographing my Border Collies for the past 13+ years. Chocolate unexpectedly passed away in 2019, and I have never been more thankful that she was my favorite muse. A main reason I find value in photography is due to memories that are captured from fleeting moments, but remind me of everlasting emotions. My pack is now made up of Roscoe (Border Collie) and Zest (Swedish Vallhund). When we are not cuddling or exploring, we compete in a multitude of dog sports through AKC. With having a rare breed, I have immersed myself in working with responsible breeders. I admire the fantastic people who are doing great things for their breed! If you see us at a show, please say hi!
